The silver plating gives this saxophone an extra degree of clarity, warmth and refinement, along with remarkably quick response across the whole range of the instrument. With a thunderous low A, high F# key, and trademark Yanagisawa keywork that moves fluidly and is exceptionally comfortable, this bari offers outstanding bang for buck for the professional or high-achieving student looking for a world-class instrument.

The WO series baritones have had a number of exciting updates over the previous 900-series models, including:

  • Redesigned low C/D# pinky keys
  • Stopping arms on the right hand side keys, for a more solid feel
  • Redesigned low A key touch
  • New substantially larger body-side key guard, to protect the body and keywork
  • Relocated strap ring - much more comfortable with a harness
  • Redesigned neck, featuring added brass plate near the receiver for extra stability
  • Changed tone hole dimensions and layout, for superior intonation and ergonimics
  • New case - lovely solid case with built-in backpack straps and wheels

We were very priviledged recently to have 4 marvellous WO baritones under the one roof, and sax specialist Aidan had this to say about this model:

"Adds a noticeable amount of extra “colour” to the tone over the WO1, while remaining very agile and responsive. At times it becomes hard to tell you’re driving a big, cumbersome bari playing this horn, as its ease of blowing and slick keywork makes difficult technical stuff that much easier. I felt that this one offered more dynamic and tonal range in both directions. I immediately noticed the extra brightness and “edge” when driven harder, but it also impressed me with its warmth and presence at low volumes. This is an outstanding bari, and pound for pound I reckon it matches up very, very well with the gold standard of the Yamaha 62."
