Yamaha Euphonium YEP-201 (S) plays just like a baritone horn but sounds like a bright euphonium. Full, warm tone and easy to play, the only real issue is low D's and C#'s tend to be too sharp, which is the case with most 3 valve instruments. This problem is usually solved when the 3rd slide is pulled out a fraction. Still, these are a great little start out the instrument and built like a tank, they will survive to sever punishment by students and keep performing for school rental programs.

In addition, they offer accurate intonation and easy playability. The YEP-201 is an excellent alternative for younger players, or when the budget is a strong consideration. It is lighter weight than more advanced models making it easier to hold and play, but still features a big full sound, and easy response.
