Low E/F correction key (YCL-CSGIIlL/YCL-CSG-AlllL)

Yamaha original intonation correction mechanism inspired by the Oehler system (German style) clarinet is available to control low E and F note. This system assures natural finger control, excellent feel and playability.

(*2) Since the C#/G# tonehole is not ideally positioned acoustically, the sound and resistance is not in line with the rest of the scale. To resolve this, a long, wider tube is inserted through the body to form the tonehole chimney.

 

(*3) The Low E and Low F need to be intentionally tuned lower to keep the Long-B and Long-C in tune. The German key system is one solution, but there are drawbacks such as increase in weight, unwanted resistance due to the large extra tonehole in the bell, and less high overtones. Now we will be offering our own light-weight optional system with simpler mechanism and smaller tonehole.

1. All transit packing and corks from the manufacturer are removed.
   
2. Thorough visual check for any wood or plating defects.
   
3. All pads checked for quality.
   
4. Test all pad seatings & key adjustments using a feeler gauge.
   
5. All key corks and felts checked, adjusted to set vent heights.
   
6. Regulate and adjust keywork as required.
   
7. All spring tensions checked and adjusted to create a balanced feel across the instrument.
   
8. Test final pad seal with a Magnehelic air pressure test.
   
9. Check joint tenons for correct fit and adjust.
   
10. Tenon corks checked for cork quality and greased.
    
11. Play test from top to bottom.
    
12. Case inspected for quality, instrument fit and accessories.
    
13. Instrument cleaned and carefully repacked.
