This is a stunning cornet in gold plate! The Olds Super model is a free-blowing and lovely sounding large-bore (.470) American cornet which was made in Los Angeles from the 1930s until the 1960s. The model was built with nickel silver valves and braces, and has an attractive nickel silver 'tone ring' around the bell rim. and this example presents really nicely. Gold plated instruments are rare, and gold provides unparallelled resistance to corrosion. This cornet comes with its original case and original Olds 7S mouthpiece.
