The Jody Jazz hard rubber baritone saxophone mouthpieces have a medium round chamber, gentle baffle, and meticulously hand finished tip and facing, the Jody Jazz hard rubber mouthpiece is perfect for producing a lush, warm baritone sound, with projection and authority. These mouthpieces feature a matte rubber exterior, emulating the look and feel of vintage mouthpieces. Slightly brighter than equivalent Meyer mouthpieces, but with extra evenness and clarity, these mouthpieces fit beautifully into a big band section sound, with the projection available for solo or small group playing too.
Fans of the lush, warm sounds of Gerry Mulligan and Cecil Payne will really enjoy the prettiness available from these mouthpieces. Or whack on a softer, brighter reed for the cut and "bark" of players such as Pepper Adams and Jason Marshall. If you're playing a plastic student mouthpiece and looking for more power and personality, or if you're playing a vintage rubber or metal piece and looking for something comfortable and free blowing, these mouthpieces must be on your list!
This mouthpiece is supplied with a metal Rico H ligature, a silicone mouthpiece cap, and a very pretty velvet mouthpiece bag. Available in the following tip openings, in inches:
- 5 - .090
- 6 - .100
- 7 - .110
- 8 - .120
- 9 - .130
