Grenadilla is the same type of wood used to make most clarinets today. It offers a deep, punchy sound with more volume and projection. Then there’s cocobolo wood, which is identified by its brighter red coloration. Cocobolo tends to give your clarinet a warm, dark tone and a lighter feel that’s ideal for solo and chamber music. All the woods used for Backun products are naturally aged in their climate-controlled facility in Vancouver, Canada.
