A real surprise!!! To be honest I am looking forward to playing my friends Courtois flugelhorn when I played this one in the store only a few days ago. I picked this Yamaha up, cautiously and then played a few more mellow tunes. This didn't really work for me (the trumpet cross-over could've been to blame but the tone was weak), so I progressed to Dizzy's "A Night in Tunisia" a more upbeat tune and then I discovered this horn can sing!

It needs some improvement in the ultra low register and the tone could be thicker but otherwise I was impressed.
