After hearing Chris Martin at a clinic at Midwest, I noticed the little yellow bottomed mute and just had to give it a try. After speaking with a few other colleagues, I placed my order for 2 of them.

First impressions: Am I really playing a practice mute? This thing really does have a blow that is very similar to playing the horn. It's also very quiet, I can be practicing in my office and with my door shut, my wife can't hear a thing and isn't bothered at all.

The only complaint I have about the mute are its tendencies to play flat in the upper register and sharp in the lower register. Much different than my wick or my peacemaker but the ease of blow makes up for it. With my earplugs in or Gunphones on, I doesn't bother me as badly, but without them it's pretty rough.
